What We Do

Helping Rohingya refugees settle and thrive

The Rohingya people have faced decades of systematic discrimination, statelessness, and severe persecution, culminating in the genocide and atrocities of 2017. During that military campaign, which involved mass killings, sexual violence, and the destruction of entire villages, over a million Rohingya were forced to flee Myanmar. Tragically, the Rohingya continue to face ongoing violence, and there remains no safe option for their return, as their safety, dignity, and freedom are still at risk.

More than 1.3 millions Rohingya are now living in overcrowded refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, where they endure harsh conditions. In these camps, they struggle to access basic services like healthcare, education, and employment, while facing insecurity and uncertainty about their future.

At RCUK (Rohingya Centre), we are committed to supporting the Rohingya community throughout their journey of displacement. From the moment they are forced to flee, we provide essential life-saving aid, including shelter, food, and medical care, in collaboration with local governments, international organisations, and NGOs. Our mission is to ensure that no Rohingya is left behind, particularly during times of crisis. We work tirelessly to ensure their immediate needs are met.

Beyond providing emergency relief, RCUK is committed to building sustainable systems and policies that better protect refugees, ensuring displaced Rohingya have access to the support they need. Our long-term goal is to help them rebuild their lives—whether through safe repatriation when conditions allow, or integration into new communities—while safeguarding their dignity and rights.

Additionally, we are deeply committed to addressing the statelessness of the Rohingya people. We advocate for their legal recognition and work to secure their access to fundamental rights, such as education, healthcare, and the opportunity to live a life of safety and dignity. Through our advocacy and support, we strive to protect the Rohingya identity and restore hope, ensuring they can thrive in safety, regardless of their locations.
