The Rohingya Centre of the United Kingdom (RCUK) wishes to express its gratitude to the Government of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their clear and principled position in the Gambia v. Myanmar Genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Bangladesh’s stance against the misrepresentation of Rohingya identity, and its call for justice and accountability, reflects a firm commitment to human rights and international law. Such support safeguards the truth and reinforces global efforts to secure justice for the Rohingya people.
RCUK also acknowledges Bangladesh’s long-standing role in hosting Rohingya refugees and supporting a safe, voluntary, and dignified return to Myanmar. We call on the international community to continue working collectively to advance justice and sustainable solutions for the Rohingya people once for all.
As a UK-based, Rohingya-led organisation, RCUK remains committed to working with partners in the UK, Bangladesh, and internationally to uphold rights, promote accountability, and help build a future in which the Rohingya can live safely and with dignity in their homeland.
