Education

RCUK (26)

Overview

Globally, millions of Rohingya children face barriers to education due to displacement and persecution. Education is key to their future, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and build strong, resilient communities.

At Rohingya Centre UK (RCUK), we are dedicated to advancing their education. Through our Rohingya Education Board (REB), we rebuild schools, provide essential learning resources, and offer mobile schooling under a unified system. Our mission is to equip these children with knowledge and skills to thrive and create brighter futures through hight-quality, accessible accredited education.

Our Aims

We need your support to:

  • Provide Rohingya children with access to education, overcoming the barriers caused by displacement and poverty.
  • Empower the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
  • Supply essential resources such as educational materials, meals, and basic necessities to ensure they have the tools to succeed in school and life.

Insights

  • An estimated 500,000 Rohingya children face severe barriers to education due to displacement, persecution, and statelessness.
  • 60% of these children, especially girls, are out of school, facing risks like forced marriage and exploitation.
  • Millions of Rohingya children are deprived of basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Older Rohingya children and adolescents are at risk of becoming a “lost generation,” vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation.

Initiative Spotlight

Rohingya Education Board

  • Across the globe, millions of Rohingya children, particularly girls, are denied education, often facing early marriage or becoming part of a lost generation. With your support, we can transform their future through education and build resilient communities.
  • In Bangladesh, Rohingya Centre UK has funded a substantial programme called Rohingya Education Board. We have established four leaning centre across different camps, each accommodating 30 children aged 4-12. Each learning centre is furnished with essential educational supplies like bags, books, and stationery, along with teachers wages, enabling 250 children to receive a meaningful education.
  • By contributing £300, you can provide a child with an entire year of education, helping to shape their future and empower their community. And we won’t stop there! Help us to scale up this project using the ‘donate’ button below.
